What must my insurance policy include?
- Loss payable clause, naming Desert Financial Credit Union as lienholder
- Full collateral description with collateral identification number
- Comprehensive and collision deductibles, not to exceed $1,000
- Coverage effective and expiration dates
Expired or canceled policies are not acceptable.
I was asked to provide Desert Financial with proof of insurance for my existing auto loan. How can I do that?
You or your insurance agent may choose one of three ways to submit your policy:
- Enter it online at https://www.myinsuranceinfo.com/.
- Fax it to (800) 709-4820.
- Mail it to Desert Financial Credit Union, P.O. Box 2130, Sioux City, IA 51104.

How long do I have to purchase an extended warranty for my vehicle?
An extended warranty may be purchased even if you do not have your auto loan with Desert Financial. Extended warranties may be purchased out of pocket or financed into your loan at any time if the vehicle qualifies. For more details, give us a call or visit a branch.
How long do I have to purchase Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP)?
Guaranteed Asset Protection coverage may be purchased out of pocket or financed into your loan within six months (180 days) of the funding date of your loan. For more details, give us a call or visit a branch.
